The Fairey Swordfish, often simply referred to as the "Stringbag," was a British biplane torpedo bomber used by the Royal Navy during World War II. It was one of the most iconic and versatile aircraft of its era,

The biplane was designed and built by the Fairey Aviation Company in the 1930s and by the time World War II began it was considered outdated, as most other nations had transitioned to faster monoplane designs. However, the Swordfish's ruggedness, simplicity, and slow speed made it suitable for naval operations.

  • Crew: Typically, a crew of three: pilot, observer/navigator, and rear gunner.
  • Length: Approximately 39 feet (11.9 meters)
  • Wingspan: Approximately 45 feet (13.7 meters)
  • Maximum Speed: Approximately 138 mph (222 km/h)
  • Range: Approximately 546 miles (879 km)
  • Armament: Typically carried torpedoes, bombs, or depth charges. It also had a rear-facing machine gun for self-defense.

The Swordfish played a vital role in the early years of World War II, particularly in anti-submarine warfare and naval reconnaissance. Its most famous action was the attack on the German battleship Bismarck in May 1941. Swordfish aircraft from the HMS Ark Royal launched a torpedo attack that severely damaged the Bismarck, leading to its eventual sinking. They were also used in the North Atlantic to protect Allied convoys from German U-boats.

The Fairey Swordfish gained a reputation for its ruggedness and dependability. It became a symbol of the Royal Navy's Fleet Air Arm with its ability to operate from aircraft carriers, even in adverse conditions and remained in service until the end of World War II, after which it was gradually phased out and replaced by more modern aircraft.

The W5856 built by Blackburn Aircraft served with the Mediterranean Fleet for a year and is the oldest surviving flying Fairey Swordfish around. It flew first in 1941, before serving with the Royal Canadian Navy in a training role towards the end of the war. It was restored to flying condition in 1993. A long-term rebuild was completed in 2015, returning the aircraft to an airworthy condition.

The bi-plane is decorated in silver with black, white and yellow markings. Its Royal Navy numbers W5856 and A2A are printed in black and white respectively with A2A featuring again in white on the underside of the upper wings. The many struts, spars and braces, which gave it the wartime nickname ‘Stringbag’ are also painted silver. The upper fuselage and forward section horizontal stabilisers are black, the torpedoes are grey with red nose cone, propeller tips and spinner yellow, engine cowl and exhaust pipes bronze, cockpit interior grey-green and fuselage bands dark red and dark blue. Additional decoration includes a black and white horizontal section on the tail fin, black and yellow wheels and the RAF roundel on both sides of the fuselage.

Fluffy and Supportive Pillow Inserts
Color: White, Size: 12x20 Inch, Color: White, Size: 12x20 Inch
I used these pillow inserts for my couch cushions, and they’ve worked out really well. They give my throw pillows a nice full look without being too stiff or flat, which makes the couch feel more put together and comfortable. Filling quantity: They’re nicely filled and give good shape without feeling overstuffed. Durability: They seem well-made and hold their shape well even after daily use. Color: Clean, bright white that works well with different pillow covers. Appearance: They make my decorative pillows look fluffy and full, giving the couch a more finished look overall.

Exactly what I was looking for
Color: White, Size: 26x26 Inch
I bought these to fill some euro pillow covers and they worked out really well. They come vacuum packed, so at first they look flat, but once you open them and give them a little time, they fluff up nicely. They are soft but still have enough structure to hold their shape on a bed or couch, which is exactly what I was looking for. Not overly firm, but not limp either. They give that full, styled look without feeling stiff. The size is true to 26x26 and fills the covers well without looking saggy. I like that they don’t feel hollow like some cheaper inserts can. Quality feels good for the price. They are not luxury pillows, but definitely a solid option for decorative use and they hold up well. Overall, really happy with them and would buy again for other rooms.

Great little sprayer
Size: 1-Gallon
This thing works really well. My only complaint is that you can't really get a tight cone on the mist setting. I wanted to be a little more precise, but it still got the job done. I would recommend this more for lawn treatments over bug spray (which is what I used it for), just because of the wide dispersal cone (especially indoors). However, it still works just fine, and gives a lot of coverage in a short amount of time. It does shoot a very precise stream out, but it's way too much liquid at once in my opinion. If you're wanting precision, you'll need to look elsewhere. As for the value, it's well worth it.

Chapin 1-gallon sprayer
Size: 1-Gallon, Size: 1-Gallon
★★★★★ Versatile Little Sprayer That’s Great Around the House, Garden & Garage. This Chapin 1-gallon sprayer has turned out to be one of the handiest tools I own. I originally bought it for spraying organic bug treatment and neem oil mixtures on my plants and garden, but I’ve ended up using it for several different things. The pump builds pressure quickly and the spray pattern adjusts easily from a fine mist to a stronger stream depending on what you’re doing. It sprays evenly and feels much more controlled than some of the cheaper sprayers I’ve tried in the past. One thing I like is keeping separate sprayers for different jobs. I use this one mainly for garden and plant care, while I keep another one strictly for bug spray and outdoor treatments so chemicals don’t get mixed together. It’s also useful outside the garden. You could easily use this for automotive detailing too — things like liquid waxes, degreasers, wheel cleaners, or spray-on protectants. The wand and hose feel durable, and the tank itself feels sturdy without being too heavy to carry around. Simple, reliable, easy to clean, and useful for way more than just gardening. Definitely worth having around the house or garage.
