The series tells the adventures of a group of humanoid felines surviving from the planet Thundera, on a new planet called the Third Earth, facing various threats and their greatest enemy, the mummified demonic sorcerer Mumm-Ra.

Lion-O is the leader of the ThunderCats, owner of the Sword of Omens, a weapon that is used to call all Thundercats when they are in danger, it gives you ”vision beyond reach” to see what is going on with a Thundercat in danger, in addition to releasing rays and possessing the powerful ”Eye of Thundera”, a larger symbol that represents its motto: justice, truth, honor and loyalty. It also has the Claw Shield, which fits in your hand to be used as a shield, shoots claws connected to super resistant wires and also releases gases of various types.

Lion-O was a child when he entered the escape ship in Thundera, but his suspended animation capsule that was supposed to slow his aging failed, and arriving in the Third Earth, Lion-O had become an adult.

Snarf is the mascot of the Thundercat´s and former nanny of the young Lion-O, friendly, grumpy and fun, he is the comic relief of the series.
