The JYRO Kraken ZP takes the legendary Kraken wingsuit platform and builds it entirely from JYRO’s full-strength J-ZP zero-porosity fabric. Same Kraken soul: stable openings, strong heading performance, surprising glide and a flare that makes the landing area feel friendlier. Different suit of armour: firmer, more durable and ready for a lot of work.
Choose the Kraken ZP when pack volume is not your top priority and you want the tougher, more structured version of JYRO’s wingsuit main. It is especially attractive for pilots who jump often, pack hard, want a longer-wearing fabric package, or simply prefer the more direct feedback of a full-ZP canopy.
Who it is for
- Wingsuit pilots who want a rugged, full-ZP main rather than the smallest possible pack volume.
- High-use jumpers who value durability, structure and consistent fabric feel.
- Newer wingsuit pilots seeking reliable openings and predictable slow-flight behaviour.
- Experienced wingsuiters who still want a canopy that can glide, dive and flare with authority.
Flight character
The Kraken ZP is built to tame the turbulent air behind a wingsuit. Inflation is quick, smooth and positive, with the centre-cell vent and fat 7-cell profile helping the canopy hold heading and stay composed. Compared with the low-bulk version, the J-ZP build gives a firmer feel, more direct input response and excellent energy retention.
Toggle strokes feel clean and deliberate. Rear risers offer efficient glide for getting back from a deep spot, while front risers can produce a proper dive in the hands of a suitable pilot. Slow flight remains forgiving, with warning before the stall and predictable recovery. The flare is powerful and confidence-building, from easy tiptoe landings to more dynamic approaches.
Design features
- Full J-ZP construction uses 30-denier silicone-coated ripstop for durability and structure.
- 3D design and CFD testing optimise shape, turbulence behaviour and recovery.
- Powerband nose shaping improves leading-edge control and reduces drag.
- ZZ-design structure spreads load through the fabric more efficiently in flight.
- Elliptical crossports support airflow while minimising upper-surface distortion.
- Inward-rotated end cells and updated stabilisers reduce induced drag and tidy up the wing tips.
- Meshless centre vent and mini-ribs improve deployment symmetry, glide and flare.
Options and suitability
SkydiveShop currently offers sizes 119–189 with Vectran 400, 500 or 750 line options. JYRO lists recommended wing loading around 1.0–1.5. Confirm line type, size, pack volume and wingsuit suitability with a qualified canopy coach or rigger before ordering.
Kraken ZP versus Low Bulk
The ZP version is for pilots who want the Kraken ride with maximum fabric structure and long-term toughness. It will not pack as small as the Low Bulk version, but the full J-ZP construction gives a more solid feel and can be the better match for high-use wingsuiters, rough packing environments and pilots who prefer a more positive canopy response.
Both Krakens share the same design logic: stable 7-cell wingsuit behaviour without giving up flare and glide. The difference is the fabric personality. Low Bulk is the compact travel-friendly choice; ZP is the durable, firmer, workhorse choice.
Ordering note
Use the line type and size options to match your actual flying, not your ego. Wingsuit deployments reward conservative decisions. Confirm canopy size, wing loading, container fit and line choice with a qualified rigger or canopy coach, especially if you are moving from a non-wingsuit main.
Before you order
Canopy descriptions are useful, but they do not replace a real suitability check. Your exit weight, currency, landing area, container compatibility, previous canopy history and coaching plan all matter. If you are between sizes or moving into a new performance class, get confirmation from a qualified canopy coach or rigger before placing the order. That keeps the purchase aligned with how you actually fly, not just how good the spec sheet looks.
